Meet in Québec City

An ideal destination

People love to attend events in Québec

Old Québec is a big part of the city's drawing power. This historic walled section of town is full of Old World charm with its narrow, winding streets and profusion of boutiques, museums, and special attractions. It boasts over 100 cafés, bistros, and gourmet restaurants where business travelers love to relax and linger after a day of meetings. Many of the city's 12,000 accommodation units are located in or near Old Québec, including some 2,000 international class rooms. Another big draw, particularly for incentive travelers, is the area's wealth of sporting and outdoor activities. Within a half hour's drive of the center of town are wilderness parks, whitewater rivers, fishing and hunting areas, mountain bike trails, downhill and cross country ski areas, groomed snowmobile trails, snow walking trails, and dogsledding and snowshoeing activities. This highly unusual proximity of wilderness adventure to modern urban living is one of most unique features of the Québec City area.

And, of course, Québec City is steeped in history. Visitors are fascinated by its fortifications, the cannons arrayed along its ramparts, the architectural treasures within its walls, and the special care with which the past has been preserved. Business travelers also appreciate knowing that Québec is a very safe, walkable city that requires no special precautions on the part of visitors.

An affordable destination

Quite aside from the city's natural appeal, another significant benefit for business travelers is the city's exceptionally low cost of living.

Québec City is also blessed with a modern transportation infrastructure providing direct access to much of the U.S. Northeast and Ontario. Its newly expanded and modernized Jean-Lesage International Airport offers direct flights to Montréal, Boston, New York, and Toronto along with a number of smaller centers. Flying time to Montréal is 45 minutes, and New York and Toronto are 1 1/2 hours away. Modern expressways on both sides of the St. Lawrence River get travelers to Montréal by car or motorcoach in 2 1/2 hours. And the city is a terminus on the well-serviced Québec City-Windsor (Ontario) train corridor.

A vibrant economy

Also spurring business travel to Québec is the city's new vitality in a number of key economic sectors. Long a government town, Québec City now boasts leading-edge expertise in such areas as biomedical, life sciences and agrifood.

But when it comes right down to it, business people love Québec City because it's so totally unique.
