Guidelines for Organizing Satellite Meetings at CPT2008
Satellite meetings will be encouraged immediately before or after CPT2008 as a way of fostering involvement of attendees in the Conference. Satellite meetings are an important part of the Conference in that they often make attendance at the Conference even more valuable to a delegate who wishes to attend a specialist subject event around the main Conference.
Satellite meetings are organized by independent societies and scientific groups but must conform to general standards if they are to be associated with the Conference. To avoid potential conflict of interest issues, satellite meetings will be supervised by the Scientific Program Committee.
Guidelines
Organizers of a satellite meeting must apply to the Conference Organizers to be accepted as an official scientific event which has to be approved by the Scientific Program Committee. The conference is then entitled to use the official statement in its title: "An official sponsored satellite meeting of The IXth World Conference on Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics - CPT2008".
Satellite meetings must take place either immediately before or after the Conference, and they must be held near, e.g. 800 km/500 miles radius, with easy access of the Conference location.
Satellite meetings should not last more than two days.
The themes of satellite meetings should be oriented on a subject of interest and should be non-product specific.
Satellite meetings organizers will be responsible for all expenses incurred with their respective meeting.
The approved satellite meetings will be promoted on the CPT2008 website.
